Kasauli : The little jewel nestled amidst the thick pine tree forests in Himachal Pradesh has been an apple of the eye for the solo wanderers, army troops and nomads since it has existed. The British style architecture lends it an old world charm, this colonial town is a famous getaway for people in North India when they want to break free from their monotonous life schedules.
A hiking paradise, you can walk the entire town on foot and still feel refreshed and rejuvenated. This place has a connection with the epic Ramayana for its being considered that Lord Hanuman found Sanjeevani Booti here. Explore the forest and if you are lucky you might find it too. We decided to explore the area with hiring a taxi from Chandigarh to Kasauli through Gagan Taxi Service. The vehicle was cleaned and the driver was polite and knew the area well. This nature trail is no less than a paradise for the bird watchers, nature lovers and the photography enthusiasts. Walk this nature trail and when you reach uphill, the view will behold you for few minutes. Capture the birds, the view along with yourself in your cameras as a memory of this place.
What can you expect?
When you trek around 300 meters which is the topmost point of the mountain, if you are lucky enough, you might spot a wild animal walking the trail.
Best time to visit: Early morning hours. The path can be slippery at times and so you must tread carefully.
Central Research Institute
Established during the colonial rule of British in 1905, this institute is now managed and un by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This institution apart from its contributions in formulating vaccines for measles, smallpox, cholera, typhoid and snake bites is preferred by the tourists for its scenic location.

The Lawrence School
One of the oldest schools in India, Sir Henry Lawrence and his wife Honoria opened this school in 1847. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and others are its alumni. Popular as the “Home to the Cannons”, this fort is where battle equipments were stored during the British era. It is now a popular training centre of the Gurkha Regiment and hence the name. this place presents a stunning scenery during the spring season when the flowers blossom and there is freshness all around.
